Sydney Charles Bartholomew
married Ellen Caress on the 19th May 1902 at St
Martin's Church, Potternewton, Leeds.
They had 2 children Alfred Smart (b. 2nd Jul 1905) and Bernard
CaressSydney was an electrical engineer. He worked for the Post
Office dealing with the telegraph system.
His work was highly regarded and he was awarded an MBE in 1932
